Description
Pre-order: Rat Rig V-Core 4.1 CoreXY 3D Printer Kit (base kit). We're gauging demand and will confirm availability, configuration and dispatch date by email. Expected dispatch: TBC. You can cancel for a full refund at any time before your order is dispatched; your statutory rights are unaffected. The V-Core 4.1 is a next-generation, fully open-source CoreXY printer kit designed in Portugal for experienced makers who want large build volumes and full control of their hardware. Version 4.1 adds a steel X-axis gantry and a full-metal toolhead for better rigidity and cooling, with Beacon contact probing for a perfect first layer. It upgrades in stages – Standard, then Hybrid (double Y-axis acceleration), then IDEX (two materials, copy and mirror modes) – without rebuilding the frame. Complete CAD files are open, so every part can be modified or repaired. Important: this is a self-build kit that needs assembly, wiring and commissioning – not a first printer. The base kit covers the structural, mechanical and motion components; electronics, Hybrid/IDEX upgrades and filtration are optional extras. Configuration and size to be confirmed at order. Key specs: - Build volume: 300 × 300 × 300 mm (400 and 500 mm sizes exist) - Outer dimensions (300): 623.2 × 583 × 785 mm; kit weight 35 kg - Frame: 30-series aluminium extrusion, steel linear rails on every axis, steel base plate - Max nozzle temperature: 350 °C; max heatbed 120 °C - Nozzles included: 0.4 mm and hardened steel 0.6 mm - Max acceleration (300): up to 15,000 mm/s² - Filaments: PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PA, PC, PVA and carbon/glass-filled grades Safety notes: mains-powered once electronics are fitted; electrical assembly should only be done by competent builders. Print engineering materials in a ventilated or filtered enclosure.
